So this is one of 2 characters i'm developing that i hope to be the stars of some Muslim stories for early readers.

She actually happened by accident! I have been starting my characters in pencil and then working on them in photoshop, and she kind of appeared in photoshop by accident, so there is no pencil of her.

Her name is Lynn and she is Sioux Native American, and also Muslim (1st generation NA Muslim) she is based on the daughter of my best friend (but not so much in looks, i've made her looks obviously sioux) who is Sioux and dedicated to my best friend and her lost heritage.

I studied photo's of sioux women to try and get her features as close to accurate as possible, i hope i've done justice to such a beautiful people.

This is just a portrait and i NEED critique on it please, i'm just learning and developing my manga style and so i'm practicing on these little girls. I'll be working on their bodies and expressions and then backgrounds after that.

The shading is really basic on purpose, i get overwhelmed and tend to over do it if i try complex shading, so i've decided i'm going to develop a more simple style, i really like how it turned out and it was quick and easy to do (which is always good!) but i know there is much room for improvement.
